Welcome from the CEO

Thank you for expressing interest in the role of Principal at Castle Newnham School, a part of the Bedfordshire Schools Trust (BEST).

It is my great pleasure and honour to warmly welcome you to BEST. Our goal is to bring out the best in everyone. Through our high and aligned autonomy, a high accountability approach, we always put children first and nurture talent.

BEST schools strive to provide excellent results and a wide range of curricular and extracurricular activities. We accomplish this by sharing a common belief in high expectations, hard work, and community-based provision. Our schools collaborate to add value and compete to improve.

BEST believes that Principals should lead their schools whilst being supported and challenged by their Local Committees of the Board. BEST gives Principals the authority to make decisions and set practices in a low-threat, high-challenge environment. All processes are simple, straightforward, and universally understood.

In always putting children first, our reference point question is "how do our activities improve outcomes for pupils and enable them to go on and succeed in life?" I welcome and encourage you to contact any of our nurseries, schools or shared services and ask this question. The answers will astound you.

We look forward to receiving your application.

With best wishes

Dr Alan Lee

Chief Executive Officer and National Leader of Education
